The Route 66 Christmas Tree Farm is a roadside attraction featuring an art installation built from hundreds of upcycled artificial Christmas trees inside a formerly abandoned building space in Tulsa’s historic Red Fork district

OPEN DAILY 10 AM -SUNDOWN

How we began:

It all started in January 2024 when Josh and Amanda Stout, who own Southwest Tulsa’s Art Emporium 66 and host Art Crawl on 66, appeared on Channel 6 news asking local people to donate their used artificial Christmas trees with a future holiday display in mind. The public response was overwhelming and we ended up with nearly 500 trees donated! From the generosity of the community the idea of the Route 66 Christmas Tree Farm was born.

Beginning in October 2024 we held multiple volunteer work days to clean up the property and start setting up artificial trees with the help of the community. By the middle of the month we were able to open our gates to the public during events in Red Fork to allow visitors to see the work in progress. During that time Josh Stout added two large murals to cover the graffiti that had been on the walls for years, and a vintage Ford was brought in to complete the feeling of being inside a giant walk through holiday snowglobe.

In November 2024 we were awarded “Green Project of the Year” by The M.E.T Recycling Center for keeping hundreds of artificial Christmas Trees out of the landfill, and on November 30th we held our Grand Opening which was also the kickoff of the Tulsa Route 66 Commission’s Twinkle Tour and the community was able to spend the holiday season enjoying visiting the Route 66 Christmas Tree Farm for photo ops and memory making. We were also voted winner of the 2024 Route 66 Twinkle Tour.

Presently, the Route 66 Christmas Tree Farm is open daily to visitors from 10 am to sundown. We are fundraising to turn it into an active creative space that also includes a gift shop featuring Christmas themed products by local artists and a large outdoor community space with a stage for local live music and events.  We have been featured in Tulsa People Magazine, on News on 6, and by Fox 23. You can find our merchandise and fundraising products at Sky Gallery on Route 66 in Tulsa’s Meadow Gold District, at 1401 E 11th St, Unit C.
