How we began:
It all started in January of 2024 when Josh and Amanda Stout, who own Art Emporium 66 and run Tulsa’s Second Friday Art Crawl on 66, went on Channel 6 news with a future holiday display in mind asking for the public to donate their used artificial Christmas trees. The public came through and we ended up with nearly 500 trees donated! From the generosity of the community the idea of the Route 66 Christmas Tree Farm was born, where we will create a large walk through snowglobe style forest out of all of the upcycled trees!
Located at 4077 Southwest Boulevard in Tulsa, this area in the strip of original historic buildings in Red Fork has sat unused for decades and we aim to turn it into an active creative space that includes a roadside attraction worthy forest of artificial Christmas trees that we aim to attract Route 66 tourists from all over world with, a gift shop featuring Christmas themed products by local artists, and a large outdoor community space with a stage for local live music and events. And the best part is it will be open year round!
In October 2024 we held multiple volunteer work days and cleaned up the property and started setting up artificial trees with the help of the community. By the middle of the month we were able to open our gates to the public during events in Red Fork to allow visitors to see the work in progress as we are building it. We continue to fundraise and work to build the roadside attraction of our dreams!
